November is a special month at BCNS! We get to learn all about community helpers and transportation – a very favorite theme for preschool-aged children. The blocks corner is filled with trains, planes, and automobiles. The playhouse is now the BCNS Veterinarian clinic. Everywhere you look, there are community themed activities for the children to explore.
We also enjoy fun learning experiences outside of our school walls as well. The Pre-K class will take a visit to the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA), the police station, and T&C. And the firefighters already visited both classes with their fire truck! What an exciting day that was. If you would like to come in and share about your community helper job, please let your child’s teacher know. We love having families in the classroom.
November also brings up discussions about Thanksgiving. Being thankful is a difficult concept for many preschool-aged children but we do our best to acknowledge the spirit of Thanksgiving. It is a tradition at BCNS to read Stone Soup and create our own soup to eat at school with our friends.
We are thankful for our amazing BCNS families and children who make our school such a wonderful place.
