Fall is here! The children are excited about our Farm and Harvest unit. Our playhouse area is now a farmers market and the classroom is filled with new activities to explore.
Here’s a classic poem that you might hear your child reciting at home:
5 Little Pumpkins
Five little Pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said "My, it's getting late."
The second one said, "There are witches in the air."
The third one said, "But we don’t care."
The forth one said, "We’ll run and run and run."
The fifth one said, "It's just Halloween fun."
"Whooooo" went the wind.
And out went the light.
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
Our trip to the Suyematsu Farm pumpkin patch will be on Wednesday, October 14th. We will take a brief tour of the farm, choose a pumpkin to bring home, read a story, and enjoy a special snack. Children should be dressed for a day of rain or shine. Boots are recommended.
We will be making applesauce on Monday, October 19th (Preschool) and Tuesday, October 20th (Pre-K). We are asking that each child bring in an apple for the project. Please let your child’s teacher know if you would like to help out!
We will be celebrating Halloween at school on Thursday, October 29th (Pre-K) and Friday, October 30th (Preschool) by inviting the children to share their costumes with their friends.
