We focus on the world around us during the month of March. The children especially enjoy exploring outer space – even though it’s an abstract concept for most preschoolers, it’s just too fun not to spend a little time learning about planets, astronauts, and rocket ships! Have you heard about our “space station” playhouse, complete with jet packs and switchboards? The Pre-K class also explores space through a variety of science activities, including balloon rockets and exploding moon rocks. Below is a poem we have been practicing:

Put on your spacesuit we’re going to the moon
Climb around the rocket ship.  We’re going to blast off soon. 
Put on your helmet.  Strap yourself in tight.
Check your controls and instruments.  Get ready for the flight.
Time for your journey.  The countdown has begun.
Here we go, get ready, get set!
