Fall is here! The leaves have already started to fall into the playground – soon we will have big piles that always encourage wonderfully imaginative play. Our playhouse area is now a Farmers Market and the classroom is filled with new activities to explore and expand our cooperative learning strategies. As we learn more about the abundant fall harvest that is right here on Bainbridge Island, we will be making applesauce, exploring pumpkins through art and science, and so much more!
Both classes are visiting the Suyematsu Farm pumpkin patch this month and will each have a sweet Halloween celebration at school.
Here’s a classic poem that you might hear your child reciting at home:
5 Little Pumpkins
Five little Pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said, "My, it's getting late."
The second one said, "There are witches in the air."
The third one said, "But we don’t care."
The fourth one said, "We’ll run and run and run."
The fifth one said, "It's just Halloween fun."
"Whooooo" went the wind.
And out went the light.
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
