Happy October! The air is crisp and the leaves are starting to fall – soon we will have big piles for the children to jump in on our nature-inspired playground. The indoor playhouse has changed into a Farmers Market and the classroom is filled with new farm and harvest activities to explore. As we learn more about the abundant fall harvest that is right here on Bainbridge Island, we will be making applesauce, exploring pumpkins through art and science, and so much more!
Here’s a classic poem that you might hear your child reciting at home:
5 Little Pumpkins
Five little Pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said "Oh my, it's getting late."
The second one said, "There are witches in the air."
The third one said, "But we don’t care."
The fourth one said, "Let’s run and run and run."
The fifth one said, "I’m ready for some fun."
"Whooooo" went the wind.
And out went the light.
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
