Rain, wind, and cool sunny days have filled our weeks so far. The school fared well during our recent windstorm. It was interesting to see how the majority of leaves that fell from the large maple did not end up UNDER the tree, but across the play yard – over by the boat! While we are having to take a break from some our Fall traditions this year, the children at BCNS are collecting and talking about things that remind them of Fall, listening to stories about farm animals, using pumpkins for art, math and more – all while running, playing, learning and socializing outdoors. The Trunk or Treat morning on 10/31 will be a nice way to close the month with a celebration for all BCNS families to enjoy.
Here’s a classic poem that you might hear your child reciting at home:
5 Little Pumpkins
Five little Pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said, “Oh my, it’s getting late.”
The second one said, “There are witches in the air.”
The third one said, “But we don’t care.”
The fourth one said, “Let’s run and run and run.”
The fifth one said, “I’m ready for some fun.”
“Whooooo”; went the wind.
And out went the light.
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
